The bearing type refers to the type of bearing used for air-cooled cooling fans. In mechanical engineering, the types of bearings are very numerous, but the types of bearings used in radiator products are classified according to their basic working principles. There are three types: Sleeve Bearings with sliding friction and the use of rolling friction Ball Bearing and two types of bearings mix these three types. In recent years, new technologies introduced by major radiator manufacturers in the area of bearings, such as magnetic bearings, fluid protection system bearings, hydraulic bearings, Lai Fuku bearings, and nano ceramic bearings, have also improved these basic bearing types. The basic working principle remains unchanged.

Sleeve Bearing is a sleeve bearing that uses sliding friction. Lubricating oil is used as a lubricant and drag reducer. The initial operating time is low noise and the manufacturing cost is low. However, this type of bearing wears badly and has a longer life than a ball bearing. A big gap. And this type of bearing is used for a long time. Because of the oil seal (computer radiator products are not possible to use high-grade oil seals, which are generally ordinary paper seals), the lubricating oil will gradually evaporate, and dust will enter the bearing, causing the fan to Slow speed, increased noise and other issues, but also because of serious wear and tear caused by bearing wear caused severe vibration. When these phenomena occur, either the oil seal is turned on or only new fans are eliminated.

Single ball bearing (1 Ball+1 Sleeve Bearing) is an improvement over conventional oil-retaining bearings. It adopts a mixture of sliding friction and rolling friction. In fact, a ball bearing and an oil bearing are used to reduce the cost of double ball bearings. The rotor and stator are lubricated with balls and accompanied by lubricating oil. It overcomes the short life of oil-bearing bearings and causes unstable operation, while the cost increase is extremely limited. Single ball bearings absorb the advantages of oil-bearing and double-bearing bearings, increasing the service life of the bearings to 40,000 hours. The disadvantage is that the running noise increases after the balls are added, but it is still smaller than double ball bearings.

Two ball bearings are relatively high-grade bearings. In the form of rolling friction, two ball bearings are used. There are several tiny steel balls in the bearing around the axis. When the fan page or axis rotates, the steel ball rotates. . Because they are all spheres, friction is low and there is no problem of oil leakage. Double ball bearing has the advantage of long life, approximately 50000-100000 hours; anti-aging performance, suitable for higher speed fans. The disadvantage of double ball bearings is high manufacturing cost and maximum noise at the same speed level. Double ball bearings and hydraulic bearings have better sealing properties, especially double ball bearings. Double ball bearings are embedded entirely in the fan, and the rotating part is not in direct contact with the outside world. In a sealed environment, the bearing's working environment is relatively stable. As a result, double-bearing bearings are used in almost all 5000-degree-diameter, large-diameter fans. Since the hydraulic bearing has a unique return-to-oil circuit, the possibility of oil leakage is small.

The representative manufacturer of Rifle Bearing technology is CoolerMaster. At present, CoolerMaster has upgraded most of its traditional oil bearing fans to Lai Fuku Bearing. As an improvement of the traditional oil-bearing bearing, Lai Fuk bearings are made of wear-resistant materials made of high oil-containing hollow bearings, reducing the friction between the bearings and the shaft core. Lai Fook bearings also have axial shafts with reverse spiral grooves and oil retaining grooves. When the fan is running, the oil will form a reverse return, so as to avoid the loss of oil, thus increasing the bearing life. The use of the above structure and components has resulted in a significant increase in oil and oil retention capacity and reduced noise.

Hypro Bearing is named after HY (Hydrodynamic wave, fluid mechanics wave) PRO (Oil protection system, oil protection system). It is a patented product of ADDA, which is a well-known radiator and fan design manufacturer. It is also in the traditional oil-bearing system. The bearing is based on a number of improvements. Fluid protection system bearings and hydraulic bearings can be described as the same thing. Both designs have adopted some unique improvement measures, but the essence is the same as the cycle oil system. The performance of all aspects is basically the same. Generally, the life of cooling fan products can reach more than 50,000 hours.

Hydraulic Bearing is a technology pioneered by AVC. It is based on oil-impregnated bearings. Hydraulic bearings have a larger oil storage space than oil bearings and have a unique loop-back oil supply circuit. The operating noise of the hydraulic bearing fan is obviously reduced, and the service life is also very long, reaching up to 40,000 hours. Hydraulic bearings are essentially still oil bearings. But this has been improved, life is greatly extended than ordinary oil seal bearings, and inherited the advantages of oil bearing - running noise is small. Hydraulic bearings have been used in AVC radiators, but not all AVC fans use hydraulic bearing fans.

Vapor bearing (VAPO Bearing) is improved by Sunon's magnetic levitation technology. It is to strengthen the hardness of the bearing sleeve of oil-impregnated bearings and adopt special materials. The inner surface of the bearing is also specially processed so that the oil bearing is not overcome. The shortcomings of high temperature resistance, combined with magnetic suspension technology, greatly extend the life of the cooling fan.

The magnetic bearing's motor has a magnetic system (MS) design. Its magnetic induction line is perpendicular to the magnetic float line. Therefore, the axis and the magnetic float line are parallel, so the weight of the rotor is fixed on the running track. Almost no-load shafts are braced in the direction of the anti-magnetic floats to form the entire rotor in suspension, on a fixed running track. Therefore, magnetic levitation is in fact only an auxiliary function, not an independent bearing form, and the specific application has to cooperate with other types of bearings, such as magnetic levitation + ball bearings, magnetic levitation + oil bearing, magnetic levitation + vaporization bearings and so on. This technology has not been recognized by European and American countries.

NANO Ceramic Bearing (NCB) is still essentially an oil bearing and was first introduced by Foxconn in its products. Traditional oil-bearing fans wear more severely during use, and their reliability during prolonged use is lower. The nano bearing effectively overcomes this problem: the ceramic bearing technology uses a special polymer material and special additives to fully integrate, the bearing core fully uses a special ceria material, using the die and sintering process, the crystal particles from the past 60um It has dropped to 0.3um and it has strong, smooth, and wear-resistant properties. Nano-ceramic bearings have a strong high-temperature resistance and are not volatile, which greatly extends the life of the fan. The properties of the nano-bearings are similar to those of ceramics. According to tests, the average life of fans using nano-ceramic bearings is more than 150,000 hours. This technology is not really a nanotechnology, and the materials used are not really nanoscale materials. They just use words like nano to attract eyeballs.
